Hi welcome to Ventrilo! This is a voice chat application that hopefully we'll use to communicate with fellow forum members and talk to each other rather than type. It's always nice to put a voice on a face/name eh?

So for those experts:

For those who are new let me explain what to do to get yourself working:

First we have the set up screen: ooo pretty you say? Great because I have nothing to do with how it looks :P. Let me explain what's what here:

1. Name: Select the name you'll be known as on vent.
2. Server: Select what server you want to use
3. Bindings: You can set text to speech phrases to different key strokes, or any other commands for vent.
4. Connect: Connects to the selected server.
5. Comment: Adds a comment in ()'s after your name.
6. Chat: Opens a text based chat window for the vent server. Doubt anyone will use it since we have IRC :D.
7. Setup: This is where you set your key bindings, input and output volume, and overall settings for the program. Very important area.
8. About: Version info and such. Boring stuff
9. Close: Self explanatory.
10. Help: You shouldn't need this after reading my guide, but it's there.

Entering your username:
Click on the -> icon after the Name field on your main Vent window. This screen will pop up:

There's a few things here that may seem overwhelming. The only two we will concern ourselves with are the Name and Phonetic fields. Click on "New" and this screen will pop up.

Put your Integral username here. Then hit OK. You'll be returned to the previous screen. Now the robot voice that tells us who signs on can't say anything right. So you may want to put in the phonetic for your name. Example I say Edan e dan. So I put that in the field and it worked. Hit play to test how it'll be heard. Once you got it right you can hit OK and go to the next step.

Server Selection
Hit the -> button after the server field. Now you'll get the server window. Click on New and name it whatever(Integral works :)) then fill the fields like below:

Hostname or IP: la1.ugt-servers.com
Port: 17510
Password: none

Don't touch anything else. Hit OK and move on.

Final Preparations
Now before you can connect we need to get your stuff set up. Click on settings and you'll get this screen:

This step is very important as we don't want you broadcasting needlessly. Make sure Use Push To Talk is checked off. Then go to Hotkey and set it to a button that won't interfere with anything. I have ` set(that's what GRAVE Means), but you can set it to anything as long as it doesn't get in the way of what you're doing. A popular choice is middle mouse key.

Now push the test button and push your push-to-talk key and talk into your mic, then let go of the key to hear your voice played back. This is how everoyne will hear you most likely. Adjust your inbound(how you hear people) and outbound(How loud you are to people) to get the setting right. If you talk on vent and are too loud people will scream at you and this is where you adjust the settings to fix that. Once that's done hit ok then hit connect.
