      INFORMATION ABOUT THE WORK
      .hack was born as a multimedia project, in which a story was proposed through a TV series, a video game, an OVA saga and, of course, a manga. Each format reveals a different piece of the plot. The general story is set in the year 2007, after the computer world has recovered from a virus that completely destroyed the Internet. Now that the web is finally reactivated under a new operating system, an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Play Game) known as "The World" is released, which becomes so popular that it has 20 million players. ...

      Synopsis

Shugo and his twin sister Rena are two of the newest players to join “The World.” And they’ve won a very special prize in a contest?they get to use the character likenesses of the legendary Kite and Black Rose. Such a prize is very rare indeed, and it makes them the center of a lot of attention. The pair will encounter friends and allies, but it soon becomes very clear that they are not ordinary players. Unusual things keep happening around them, but they’re too busy having fun to really worry. It’s probably nothing. Probably.
