  1. Oops, forgot a few words. Bolded them here for posterity.
  2. A couple years back, I came across a flash executable while digging through old press release materials for the .hack. As per the TOS of the site, I can't disclose where I got it...just know that I only have access due to having worked in game media journalism. I believe this was made in October 2003 and released in early 2004 as part of the marketing for the PAL release, but I'm still trying to verify that. Unfortunately, it took me a while to figure out how to open it but I was finally able to do so using a Windows XP virtual machine. (Thanks to CrackedPixel for the help!) I was able to access it and verify that it was a safe file, so I felt okay uploading it here. (And on the Internet Archive!) Thanks to getting a chance to test it, I was able to get some video footage and screenshots of it. I also was able to finally get around to making an article for it on the .hack//INFO wiki, which includes a transcript. The description of the file: "A rather nifty little teaser program to run on your PC." File info: "My Flash Movie" file, 2.84 MB

  4. Despite the fact that I've been in the fandom from the very early days...it's always bothered me is how a lot of information from the series eventually boiled down to "trust me bro," and if you weren't active when the R:1 games were originally coming out it got harder and harder to verify stuff like the Hidden Keywords and other DVD easter eggs in the North American releases of the Liminality DVDs. And now that the games are getting "retro" prices...I figure it's probably much more difficult for newer fans. So I wanted to carefully document everything, and have finally do so on the dothack.info Wiki. My Volume 1 DVD is currently in storage so I wasn't able to go as in-depth as I was able to with 2-3, so if anyone else wants to provide screenshots, I'd be obliged. I've been working on these two articles: Liminality DVD Bonus Content (WIP) Liminality DVD Easter Eggs (98% done) As a kid in the US, I was always confused as to how other people seemed to know which server was the one to be used for the keywords found in Liminality. This is because the North American version has As it turns out, the original version (Japanese text) is hidden in the backgrounds and scenery, and this includes the server symbol. (Though admittedly, some of them are tricky to find.) For Comparison: Σ 味え猛る 五百羅漢 沸血の VS Barking Hot-Blooded 500 Lohan I'm still trying to figure out where the Japanese keyword is in this image: Like, I guess it's on the plaque at the bottom of the statue, but I absolutely can't read whatever's written there. It's supposed to say Σ 非凡なる 妖気の 残留思念, but...I'm just not seeing it. I also included stuff like the hidden character bios (as well as the non-hidden ones.) I've also added citations with exact timestamps. This is something I've been wanting to do for ages...now I can sleep instead of staring at the ceiling at 3am.
  5. Thanks for the heads up, went and got that fixed!
  6. I've been working on transcribing the Games Tetralogy Famitsu Guides Weapons Tables as part of my research for the //INFO wikipedia. I have all of the Quarantine tables done and am slowly but surely adding the other volumes for comparison. Once this is done I'll be checking the data against the games and hopefully finishing up the Weapons pages on the wikipedia. Figured I'd post it here in case it's helpful for anyone. Weapons Tables (Google Sheets) I've also started working on the Armor tables as well but still have a lot more to do. Armor Tables (Google Sheets)
