May 2012 Integrability Updates

Hello, and welcome to another exciting day in Whats New Integrability. If you have not been following the updates going on with .hack//Beyond the World, .hack//VERSUS, and Project X Zone; then it may be time you followed their Facebook pages.

Many new projects have been underway, as well as many old faces returning and swarming the site with new posts. One of the latest projects was to rebuild the old Cafepress shop. Many of the most notable design you'll find is Rego's Integrability mascots characters available on T-Shirt form. Another project we been working on was to archive all the dothack products and memorabilia onto one page. Items who's titles are clickable will take you to the trusted websites we're working with such as RightStuf International and Play-Asia. Also, the Book of the Twilight, our personal wiki site received a restructure to its layout making it easier to navigate.

In the latest reconstruction, we've brought back the old milestone awards now renamed "Achievements" as the latest online gaming terms go. To receive your lost achievements be sure to make your appeal in the appeal discussion topic. The former RPG shop is also back. This system will once again house your GP earnings as well as your inventory.

Recently we made the decision to drop the former homepage powered by Wordpress because of its lack of integration with the forum itself so it pretty much sat on the side alone repeating the same information. But also now the new homepage will share cookies with the forum to give a more seemless look. The new homepage is apart of the forum and will blast you with the latest on-going at the forum. Unfortunately this change has broken the podcast and we will be attempting to fix this shortly.

There has been some updates in the mobile department. The developers are still working on a public release of the Android app. Whereas the old iOS app has been removed and a brand new one is in public testing. However the old iOS was free, this new version costs $1.99. I can't think anyone who lightly visits the forum using this app, but those like me who use it heavily may find it worth the price.

And finally, don't forget we're always looking for new potential faces who wish to be apart of the Integrability staff, community, and future. If you wish to be apart of the experience that moves the site forward, check out out staff application page and see if it's something you wish to do.

Well until then folks this has been an update from Integrability, salutations!

Staff Testing Phase!!!

Thats right guys, I'm about to commence the staff testing phase! In a few short weeks I'll be giving select staff, mostly those who are still active the link to downlaod the game and the staff editors. During this time I will build on the Chaos gate system along with the Item system.

With my semester ending next week I will have more time to work on this and from there I'm hoping to have a Closed beta by the end of August.

Returning Users!

To all the users who are coming back to the site for its summer time and they have time to get on, I welcome them back. There have been a few things changed, fixed, still working on being fixed. So if you have an issue logging in and you create a new account, post here and I'll merge the two accounts into the one you want and send you a temp password.

Forums updated!

I have gone through all the themes and fixed as much as I could possibly. There are still a few things that need to be fixed. Once they are fixed most of the themes will be 100%.

MybbGamer is now 100% working again. It was missing the css files for some reason.

You may have noticed I cleared out the announcement forums. I did this because it was time to prune and start over with all the updates for the games. I'm working on a new system for updates about the game.

April 2012 Integrability Updates

Happy April Fools Day! at http://forum.dothack.org/ First we'd like to inform you the forum software went through a recent update, so pardon our dust in some areas and let us know if you see anything broken and post it on the Support Forums. However, it is April Fools Day and you'll notice today and today only a minor change that may have you easily amused. The character models are still up, the tab is currently removed for the time being. You can access the avatar page by clicking your photo in the header or bottom bar, or by going to your settings and clicking change photo. This past month we've seen daily activities in the Skype chat, so don't forget if you'd like to be in our chat, contact Insydius and ask to be added to the group. It's been weeks and the activity on the online games we host Terraria and Minecraft has pretty much died. We're aware most of you have been playing single player versus mutliplayer and we're cool with that. However if nobody's going to be playing the server then we won't be hosting anything the people aren't interested in anymore. Custom Character Models are seeing some attention lately, with 2 character models currently in production who know's what we'll be seeing soon. In the last Becoming Dothack eyelefun won Elk and Moshi won Atoli, congrats you two. Now that the forum has been upgraded and the former Badges/Milestones now proven to be working, we'll head into full swing and start issuing out everyone's Achievements, the new name for these novelty items. You may noticed a "Store" tab in the header, this little guy will take you to our store where you can purchase with real money a Monthly Subscription account for your forum account giving you access to upgraded or unlimited features across the forum. Also for sale is the Custom Character Model sprites where you can purchase and provide details of what you want. And don't forget to participate in the User Choice Awards that's in effect right now. Send evilteenietiff your suggestions for the UCA awards now! And finally, have you visited our 3 Facebook pages? One for Integrability, one for .hack//TheMovie, and the third for .hack//VERSUS. If your an oldbie or a curious newbie, you should check out our Integrability Facebook page to see a blast from the past of the peoples artworks and productions. http://www.facebook.com/integrability/photos Interested in the upcoming .hack movie title, check out .hack//Beyond the World http://www.facebook.com/dothackthemovie If your a fan of the upcoming PS3 fighting .hack game then check out .hack//VERSUS http://www.facebook.com/hackversus Enjoy fans! (p.s. We are still looking for job applicants for the Game Master team and the Sprite Team if your interested in working for Integrability.) Cheers!

March 2012 Integrability Updates

Greetings, its March and here are your updates! Last month we did a lot, and I mean A LOT. A breif run down will show that dothackers.net announced the winners of their giveaway event, and to our surprise someone from Integrability won, Pi our lady administrator of Integrability. Congrats Pi! Which also moves into our next subject .hack//QUANTUM being released online on BluRay in English audio, it's short and sweet but not as zany as the shorts they have in the disc Extras. We've picked up another MMO private server hosting service, the quirky 2D side scrolling game Terraria. The IP for our private Terraria server uses the same IP that our Minecraft server (recently got updated to 1.2.3) uses. The Facebook page for Integrability has switched to the new Timeline system for pages. And with this we've even beefy updated all our content on Facebook including fan arts, paint chat screenshots, signatures, MMO screenshots, newsletter pages, and webcomics. We also converted our last iTunes podcast to a video for you to listen to in video form on Facebook. This of course moved us into newer opportunities and started the beginning of our video updates. We had to drop all our videos on our YouTube account as hosting trailers and promos on YouTube is a fringe in their terms of service, so now our YouTube will host a multitude of videos pertaining to Integrability and all its vastness. For starters there's a short video of our two private servers Terraria and Minecraft for you to witness how our games look like. But also for the first time we created a video tutorial on how to use the fabled Character Model system for you to view and learn how to use. This video can be seen on the homepage of the Character Model editor page as well. More videos will be making their appearance on our YouTube page including a slower tutorial of the character model interface, a video on advanced sprite layering and manipulating, more podcast to video conversions for you non-iTunes users, and more MMO adventures. But to those of you who are saddened by the loss of Integrability adhering to YouTubes terms of service to when it comes to trailers and promos, you can as of now watch them on Integrability forums. Our former "albums" page which shared arts and images from Integrability history has expanded to our new "media" page. You'll not only find images in this section but also videos on the dothack series. Recently a user dropped by our forums and asked us where he could find the English patch to the Japanese Playstation 2 offline online game .hack//fragment, we of course helped this user to our fullest knowledge. You can now find Coldbirds old fragment English patches in our forums download pages. Back on our homepage we updated our old blogging software, and gave our old skin theme a new update as well. Then you'll notice all the links, articles, pages, and content are now up-to-date. Since our old MMO game we created is no longer in service that page is now gone, and our two private server games are in its place. Well Integrians, that's all I have time for, and that was just one month, wait till you see happens in the upcoming months. So needless to say we don't want to spoil everything here and now.   Salutations Integrians!

Retirement of the Chatroom, hello Skype

It's litterally been over 7 years since we've held onto our IRC chatroom #integral. It was the platform to many of our community group chats and even some of our fondest memories. It was where people who were shy and timid could befriend someone from the site and feel welcomed amongst our growing family. Many newblets used it as a source of support and aide to find out how to start, how to role-play, or just to chatter about gaming and dothack.

Now adays it sees less of that and has become an outdated piece of online software. Many people want voice chat, and a chat system everyone can use anywhere at anytime from any computer or device. So that's where Skype came in. It's accessible from PC and MAC computers, on smartphones, and even landlines. And if you don't have the software or restricted from installing the Skype software, there are online services that can emulate the program such as imo.im's webservice.

We run a chatgroup on Skype now, actually have been for over a year now. While you are free to participate, chat or talk, you are able to leave at anytime. However with the way things are setup, the only way in is by asking someone in the group to add you in. But you can always count on me beingi n the chatgroup, so all you have to do is add Insydius to your Skype contact lists and ask me whenever you like to be in the chatgroup.

February 2012 Integrability Updates

Hello, its been a long while. We're finally in 2012 and things are picking up. On February 4th was Integrability's 7th year anniversary, and in that time many things have taken place, many memories and many projects we worked on or people and site's we worked with. Edan wrote up a list here to name a few of these major events. Are there more that you can think of? Or perhaps some that were truly memorable to yourself? While on the train to yesterday ville, Integrability also purchased the domain name dothack.info this year. From the minds and memories of our users and thanks to the power of the way back machine, we were able to piece together what .hack//INFO once looked like for you real early dothack fans. In other news, our long fabled IRC Chatroom while remaining up online has pretty much been replaced by our daily Skype chat group. To be added to this group be sure to add and ask Insydius on Skype to be enrolled. The recent strings of spambot attacks on the forums have been handled diligently by our forum moderators and administrators, all evidence of their attacks have been erased. And while they still may be registering, the recent security updates have prevented them from doing any further damage. For you Star Wars the Old Republic fanatics, a new subforum was opened for you to share your adventures. The world of dothack has started to blossom again. The latest installment of the series .hack//The Movie, or known to some as .hack//Beyond the World had released in Japanese theaters, so hopefully we may see some localization in the works someday. Also the original soundtrack to this series has been released on Amazon Japan for those wanting to get a piece of the series now. The realm of localized dothack, .hack//Quantum on BluRay pre-orders have been shipped from RightStuf.com. Or if you been watching the news on our forums and facebook, you would have had a chance to win one for free from our pals at dothackers.net's giveaway contest. At the time of this email, the giveaway is still on-going and winners will be announced soon. So be sure to check out the latest on the forums, or share a laugh with our members on Skype, see the latest developments from .hack//Beyond the World, our visit our facebook page, and don't forget to try out our Minecraft server. Progress Update.

Sorry for the lack of updats guys. Development was put to a hault due to a hosting issue, but since fixed, I plan to give you updates weekly, most being maps and sprites, but r then nothing right? hurrhurr.

Anyway, The World: Revelations will have R:2 type fields instead of the original R:1 areas. These include Island, desert, and even dungeons with their own keywords (dojo, cave, castle). Here's how the Beast Temple (inside) will look.

We hope to bring you more updates as maps, features, etc. progress.

Thank you all for bearing with us. We plan to have to a functional game up soon.

Acquisition of "dothack.info"

This week Integrability has acquisition the domain name "dothack.info" from the online domain registrar. This domain has been available for some time now after its previous ownership had expired. Now the thought of what to do with the domain name itself came upon me to handle since I made the purchase. A thought of moving the wiki to dothack.info originally made sense because the domain is dothack and the extension was info, what else would you expect to find there? However, our wiki with the lack of support or a staff to manage it lacks in everything, therefore the efforts to have a wiki at dothack.info seemed fruitless without the power to manage it as seen at dothack.wikia.com.

Now then me being as old as the internet, and went to a website once called .hack//INFO which was previously held at the domain which had expired, felt a bit sentimental. So thanks to the powers of the internets waybackmachine and my own memories, I had pieced together once what was the old forum website .hack//INFO from scratch. And this is what became of that endevours.

http://www.dothack.info

Your probably asking great so now what? Nothing really, I've locked registrations entirely to prevent people from joining it. Thus far it like many of my other projects is a means to preserve history. So if you are a long time dothack fan since the first years, you would have came across this site maybe once or twice since the lack of the modern communities like the dothack wiki or wiki's in general, the official dothack GU wesbite at dothack.com, the many rise and fall fandom made dothack games that may or may not be still around, or the many facebook social communities available today; you were probably at .hack//INFO chatting up about the latest episodes of .hack//SIGN on Cartoon Networks Toonami, or talking about the latest released manga by Tokyopop. (notice Toonami and Tokyopop don't exist today?)

New Character Model Editor In-progress

With the new R2 era moving forward, as I spoken in my last post regarding the dumping and re-organization of the sprites themselves I got to thinking... why stop there? So I've been working on building new features and changes to the way we sprite and model change. For starters I began thinking from a newbie's eyes, where do you start, how do you start, where do you go, how does this thing even work?

New Frontend
In the past we tried once with a frontend only to find the information posted was everywhere else and was more of a linkage. So this time I wrote out the tutorial right on the frontend itself. As soon as you enter the system you don't see a list of empty avatars, you get the tutorial and FAQ's right away!

Text Links to Buttons
I don't know about you but the text links that took you from page to page was difficult for me to spot. Half the time I never noticed that some of the words were actually links, for example the breadcrumb navigation for when you went deep into folders were clickable buttons to go back. So now I drew up some jumbo buttons for everyone to see and the breadcrumbs now turned orange and underlined. And the buy now button is really noticeable.

Login Name / Display Name
I bet you Becoming Dothack winners were asking why the hell was the thing saying your login name and never your beloved won dothacker name? There were a few instances this popped up like where it said username or anytime you created a new character model it would say "loginame's character model".

Increased Thumbnail Size
Some of the thumbnails while shopping were tiny, 100x100 for example. You probably never realized but the sprites themselves were created in 250x250 pixels. This is most apparent for the background images as they take up the whole canvas. So I thought what was a adequate size for thumbnails? How about 170x170? Certainly made a difference.

White on White
I realized that some images were difficult to see based on color as well. For example the white tattoo's were shown on the white pages. So for many, it was like where's the tattoo's? Next time you view the tattoo's check out the white ones on the greyblue boxes.

Folder Image Preview
Nevina aka Pi, our former resident spriter a few years back sought to create a way for people to get an idea what images were like and to describe a category group better. A few months back she set out to create NPC's in the directories that showed off the outfits on a blank body. Taking this idea further I thought, why not have the plain ordinary folders themselves do the speaking what lies behind door number wang! As shown on the first shopping page you'll see samples of what's inside the directory, this is still currently in progress.

Pricing and Availability
Also unrelated to the system itself, pricing and availability on sprites are spreading out. As some of you may have noticed there are in fact some freebies out there to start your characters out. On average items cost 5 points with unlimited availability. However some rarer items are going up in price and quantities like the Forest of Pain costing 1000 points with only 10 left to buy, not per person but the site as a whole. So if you want other to be jealous of your awesomeness, I suggest you buy the rarer sprites while you still can before they're all sold out!

These are some of the features you can witness right now, a few more projects regarding the system may come soon once I learn how create and implement them. Still taking into consideration a dressing room but I won't make any promises.

Be sure to keep your comments and feedback coming and rolling and maybe your thoughts and ideas will be implemented too! Or if you like to help out maybe you should consider being the first joining the sprite team!

Ciao!

End of R1 Era, Beginnings of R2

As some of you may have known, we held a public vote on which versions of the fictional role-play The World should we keep. Unanimously The World R2 compared to our twisted version of The World R1 and The World R2 you've all known to call .hack//Integral will be put to rest. Revision2 as we're calling it will begin a new chapter in Integrability lore. As the remaining administrator of Integrability I'm continuing forward with this site and community being dothack related and will continue to do so.

The next chapter known as Revision2 will begin this month. With this new era, we'll be shifting some forums around once more. The fabled Gamers Game Guidebook will no longer play a vita role in this game. The newer guide will be posted within The World Revision:2 » The World » Official Site much like how it was shown in the video game. The quest shop will eventually be remade once this month's becoming dothack comes to an end, as becoming dothack was the sole active quest we've ran throughout the years, it's apparent it served no real purpose and the quirky quests will be streamlined as a role-playing element in the upcoming The World Revision:2 forums. System Broadcast (here), Creative Feedback, and Support Forums will remain as an apparent necessity for Integrability in dealing with the community news, gathering important public opinion as seen in the R1/R2 debate, and supporting you with tips and knowledge how to use the site and provide aide when things go ary.

Our current The World An Ambient Melody, the role-play that combined R1/R2 era, will be retired within our closed forum vault you may recall as Cyber Slums, the archive forum of old and locked posts. Obviously, Area's of Interests having nothing to do with Integrability or it's role-play will remain unaffected. And the new The World Revision:2 will be bumped up as the new highlight of Integrability. Though would you prefer this section to be listed between the System Broadcast node and the Area's of Interests or completely after Area's of Interests?

In other news, Facebook had announced the removal of importing RSS feeds from sites to their pages and facebook status's as part of their keeping Facebook more natural and fluid by forcing users and accounts to post live messages rather exporting and importing messages. Therefore, you'll eventually come to see the end of the mirroring of our System Announcements posted here and on our Facebook page and see more of a natural postings on our Facebook page.

With nothing more to say, I hope you all enjoy the coming days of Integrability's Za Warudo!

.hack//LINK Preview to the Fan Patch Series

Welcome all it is I Jun Bansyoya, you might remember me from such web forums as the dothackers.net, the French .hack forum, or that forum of people translating .hack//fragment. This is the opening post to what will be a series of posts about the .hack//LINK fan translation that is set to be released later this month. This series will  teach you how to get our translation running on your PSP and will include topics such as;  How to get .hack//LINK. How to modify your PSP. How to convert your .hack//LINK UMD into an ISO. How to patch your ISO. Finally where to download the patch. EDIT: This post turned out to be a one off please see the .hack link project page for the rest of the how-to The first Subject will be a short and simple one, How to get .hack//LINK. We firmly believe that CC2 deserves money for their work on a great game and we also understand that what we are doing is also not completely legal. The last thing we want to do is fan the flames, so we want to stress that we do not support piracy in any way. Everyone working one this project has imported a copy of this game and we would like to urge everyone who plan on playing this game to do the same. To aide you in this I have 2 links to help you in your search for this game. Buy .hack//LINK (PSP the Best) (Sony PSP) at Play-Asia.com – This is the Japanese equivalent to Players Choice version. It retails for US$ 37.99. It is not out yet but will ship October 6th 2011 this should be in your hands in time for the release of the patch. Buy .hack//LINK (Sony PSP) at Play-Asia.com – This is the regular version complete historical DVD, it is currently out of stock but might not be for long. This one is more expensive at US$ ~72.00 Well that is all for tonight the next post will be more technical and will detail a crash course into hacking your PSP.

Integrability Becoming Dothack, You Decide!

The fate of current holders of Dothack character names and potential future winners of Becoming Dothack, your feedback is requested. Right now and until October 1st, a dicussion is being held to determine the future of those who are interested in participating Becoming Dothack, the only means for players to be given the chance to use a character name from the dothack series. Presently, anyone can participate and anyone can win, but they can only win names NOT already won by someone else. Eventually, all names will be taken and there will be no names left obviously. How do we combat this? Naturally, take away the dothack names from winners who are NOT active for a specified period of time. http://forum.dothack.org/topic/1892-adding-back-unused-becoming-dothack-names/ At this moment a poll and discussion is available here for you all to discuss the future of how the rules of this event will change. You and you alone will get to determine though participation and discussion how we'll move forward with this event. You can either choose yes you'd like inactive users to loose their names, or no you prefer winners to keep the names eternally. And on top of which determine what would be the cutoff time to determine how someone is considered inactive to loose their name if the majority vote yes to take names from inactive users. If you yourself  are using a dothack character name then you may want to defend your ownership for your name. Otherwise, all of you who may want to win a dothack character name in the future but the name is already being used by an inactive user for over a year of no posting, here's your chance to legitimately have the opportunity to have that name be given back to the event for everyone to have a chance to win at it. Be heard dothackers, be loud and have your opinions count toward something great and fair to everybody! Signed,
A concerned citizen.

09/02/2011

Its been a few days and I took a long needed rest from programming this. Now I'm and in full swing. I'm thinking of bringing some people in on the development to help out. I'm really not sure. If I buckle down and get the editors out we can get the staff going again! Which will be very good!

I started to work on the editors again. The armor editor should be totally finished in a few moments. Then I will test this out and then start work on the weapon editor!

What's New Integrability? hosted by Edan

So your probably asking why's everything quiet, why's Edan not said a word, what's been going on in the background? I been working silently in the shadows as always, and you've probably noticed some changes here and there happening everywhere. So time you got in on the action.

The homepage is not physically gone, at this time it's only redirecting to the forums so both forum.dothack.org and www.dothack.org will now take you here until I can further decide how to handle the homepage.

Your ability to edit your character's class and race in your profiles has switched back over to the staff members only being able to modify for you. The reason being is we've added a few race and classes we don't want users to freely choose such as those we'll be using for the NPC roles to make the role-play return back to it's dynamic story development. Those of you who had a post in the Akashic Records had that data used for their profiles.

What's with this new RP forum section? Well obviously we're planning on moving forward and we stated in the poll which would you prefer R1, R2, or both? The majority leaned and gave us feedback in their posts stating you all wanted strictly R2 and that's what's with the new blank RP forums. CC Corp even got a new avatar, I used the avatar from the games and made it mediocre edgy.

With a new role-play being established, the team still grows. Right now among the GM team we now have Dragon_of_FAITH, Gaspard, Piros the Third, and Sirius. Characters are being developed and a story is being drafted out smoothly.

As for me personally, while the GM's have you guys planned out, I been working independently on the old projects the Gallery and the Wiki team solo. I once again dumped the contents of each projects, reinstalled a new platform to host them, and been working on it's content and organization. The gallery now features all the series immediately from it's gallery menu unlike before you had to navigate to the series. As a means to draw you into the gallery viewing, a music from the anime/game series plays from that series. So while you browse through the .hack//SIGN gallery you'll begin to hear Key of the Twilight from the .hack//SIGN OST 1 play, and if you immediately switch on over to the .hack//GU gallery you'll begin to hear Gentle Hands play. I made sure this time to acknowledge all of those of you whom helped me over the years work on the gallery right on the front page where everyone can see it. I appreciate all your efforts guys and thanks! Oh yeah, I clocked the number of images in the gallery and it's over 3,900!!!

In the world of the wiki, to reflect the new direction of the upcoming role-play, I wanted to make things easier for newbies here to play in our role-play. On the forum you'll notice a new search bar beneath the forum search bar, this searches ONLY the wiki, even a few sample ideas randomly appear in the search bar. When I restarted the wiki I wanted to focus more in on the Lore and Backstory of The World. I noticed the .hack//wiki and Wikipedia's out there really don't cover these things to my surprise. For example look up Crest or Crest Technology and tell me what you find at other wiki's. Be surprised they don't cover the small basics in The World R:2 lore like that. And these are some of the things that I'll be focus in on for our wiki. And eventually work my way into what each series is about, about each character, and so forth.

We always move forward, this is apparent in our archives Reminisce and Redemption, progress and change and new horizons wait all of us. And we could always use a strong team to help get us there, so if your interested in making a difference here or wanting to give back for all we shared with you, your welcome to come to me if you wish to be a staff member with Integrability.

September 2011 Integrability Updates

We now have a server at 8.8.249.179:25565. It is still under going to development/plugin addons. Right now there are no rules. I'll leave that up to sly! If she wants the white list to be activated I will activate it for her. If there is a mod/plugin you guys want just let me know and I'll add it if it looks good enough.
